My research interests reflect my sustained interest in exploring and evolving ways of understanding how, as compositionists, we come to know, do, and teach writing as meaning-making activity. I employ a feminist approach to inquiry that celebrates collaboration, reciprocity, and thoughtful play. Examinations of processes of knowing, doing, and teaching–a deep interest in engaging and making meaning from the complexities, complications, and conundrums surrounding methods and methodologies keep me curious. I find collaborative approaches to inquiry and teaching provide fertile ground for explorations of the methodological and pedagogical messiness of just such processes.
My ongoing, active involvement with the Rhetoric & Writing Program at BGSU and the larger academic discipline of Rhetoric and Composition reflect my deliberate attempts to contribute to ongoing conversations about how we know and do the work of writing research and pedagogy.
